| The Mediterranean Center for Arts and Sciences (MCAS) is a dedicated Study Abroad Institute located within a restored 17th century palazzo in the historical center of the ancient Sicilian city of Syracuse. The school is steps away from the Mediterranean Sea.

Many classes contain extensive field trip elements, but regardless of individual course choices, all students are offered an inclusive co-curricular program of excursions and weekly local events designed to immerse you in the cultural context of Sicily. MCAS offers a genuine immersion program that enables our students to truly experience the cultures of Italy and the Mediterranean.
Study Abroad Italy (SAI) oversees and coordinates all aspects of your enrollment including application processing, course selection and credit, visa preparation, housing, student health insurance, transcripts, and cell phone service. SAI provides comprehensive student services, beginning with pre-departure and leading to our on-site orientation and advising in Italy. MCAS students are provided with an airport transfer on arrival days, wireless and on-line access in the computer lab, and program sponsored field study trips and excursions to fascinating destinations within Sicily.
